Barry’s Bootcamp – Boston

Barry’s Bootcamp is a group fitness class that involves cardio and strength training in each class.  Last week, I took a class at Barry’s Bootcamp in Boston called the “Full Body” workout.  Thanks, to blogger Little Miss Runshine, we were able to attend this class and have an awesome workout. Our class was led by Chad, whose enthusiastic attitude was very motivating.  Every fifteen minutes for one hour, we rotated from the treadmills to the floor.  We ran at a variety of speeds and inclines and then switched over to weights and other floor workouts such as squats and burpees.  The fitness center has a modern, clean, and upbeat atmosphere.  The staff is friendly and helpful.  Located right in Downtown Crossing, Barry’s Bootcamp is very easy to find.  When you’re done with the class you can buy a  smoothie or snack from their “Fuel Bar” and then take a nice shower using the Malin + Goetz bath products.  Overall, I had a wonderful experience and an extremely intense work out.  I felt so good after the class and would definitely go back.

This open marketplace is located between the North End and Faneuil Hall right next to the Haymarket T stop. It’s open every weekend, Friday to Saturday, from dawn till dusk.  At Haymarket, you can bargain for a variety of fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, cheeses, and flowers.  Looking for  potatoes, pineapples, pears, or prawns?  How about some strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries? They have it all.

The produce sold here is usually the extra food that did not sell in the grocery store that week.   The fruits and vegetables are very ripe so you have to be careful when picking out the best ones.  They have great bargains and are some of the lowest prices I have found in the city.

Food Should Taste Good – Kettle Cooked Chips

Light, Flavorful, & Sweet!  Three words that come to mind when eating these chips.  Food Should Taste Good kindly sent me four different bags of their kettle cooked chips to try out and write a review.  Since I like to eat healthy and try to stay away from junk food, I liked the fact that these chips are certified organic, Non-GMO, and that I could pronounce all of the items on the list of ingredients!

Food Should Taste Good was founded in Waltham, Massachusetts in 2006.  All FSTG products are gluten-free, cholesterol free, certified kosher, and have zero grams trans fats.  I could tell by my first bite that they are made with high quality ingredients because they are so light and not greasy like other chips.

The four flavors listed below in my review are made with sweet potatoes and corn which have protein, fiber, and vitamins.  These chips have a really good crunch, are nice and light, and loaded with delicious flavors!

 Kettle Corn Tortilla Chips

Made with stone ground corn, cane sugar, and sea salt. They taste like sweet corn tortilla chips.  I brought them over to a dinner party and everyone loved them! They paired very well with the guacamole and spinach artichoke dips we made.

Barbeque Sweet Potato Chips

Seasoned with molasses, tomato, onion, vinegar, and garlic.  Light and crispy with smoky and sweet flavors.

Salt & Pepper Sweet Potato

The sea salt and black pepper add some spice to the chips.

Salt & Vinegar Sweet Potato

The sea salt and a hint of vinegar creates a sharp flavor that is not as overpowering like other salt & vinegar chips.

Jerry Remy’s

Jerry Remy’s Sport Bar & Grill

Fenway Park

Jerry Remy’s is located on 1265 Boylston St. in Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox.  They serve lunch and dinner all year round and have giant flat screen TVs to catch a game while you eat.  The roof deck, which opened in 2011, has a view of Fenway Park, a retractable roof, patio seating, and a bar.  The roof deck also has an “Alchemy & Science” bar with local craft beer lines available to try.  Jerry Remy’s is a great place to grab a beer or bite to eat after a Red Sox game.

Last week, my sister, Gluten Free Boston Girl, and I had dinner at Jerry Remy’s in Fenway Park. We were invited to try out the new Athlete’s Menu. The Athlete’s Menu was created to appeal to a more diverse group of consumers; it offers options that are gluten-free, paleo, vegetarian, and vegan.  The drink list includes Redbridge gluten-free beer, cider, and “Paleotails”. Below are pictures and descriptions of our dinner.
